The plane gained notoriety after the pilot Manfred Von Richthofen was dubbed the Red Barron, due to planes distinctive colouring. Richthofen shot down 80 enemy aircraft, more than any other pilot, but was shot down himself by a Sopwith Camel on 21st April 1918. The classic tri-plane is marked with the old style icon cross with white outline of Balkankreuz. Measures 13 inches in length, 16 inches in width and 4 inches in height. A wonderful, hand crafted mahogany replica of the legendary K5054 Prototype Spitfire, courtesy of Bravo Delta Models. Construction of the K5054 began in December of 1934, and on the 5th March 1936, she took her maiden flight. The British Air Ministry were so impressed with what they saw, that 310 were ordered immediately. The Spitfire went on to become the most iconic plane of the Second World War. Sadly for the K5054, on the 4th September 1939 she nosed over on landing and the craft was destroyed. The crash happened the day after Britain declared war on Germany. This model is an outstanding tribute to the first ever Spitfire, and will take pride of place in any collection. The model measures approximately 16 inches in length and 18 inches in width, and comes complete with presentation stand.

A Bravo Delta replica of the Sopwith Pup. Manufactured by the Sopwith Aviation Company, the Pup was officially named the Sopwith Scout. Although only powered by a 80hp Le Rhone rotary engine, the Pup enjoyed a lively perfomance because of its light wing load. Pilots loved it because it was simple, reliable and pleasant to fly. On the frontline the Pups were replaced by Camels in the Autumn of 1917. But the Pup stayed in service on Home Defence duties. It was particularly suited to carrier work and on August 2nd 1917, Squadron Commander Edwin Dunning flew a Pup for the first ever landing of an aircraft on a moving ship. This Bravo Delta replica is hand crafted from kiln dried mahogany, and accurately hand painted using up to 35 coats of lacquer. This model measures 29cm in length and has a wingspan of 41cm.
