Brace yourself for the chance to get to the very edge of the ‘Battlefield experience’ and become a soldier in the ‘Virtual Combat’ Arena. Using a purpose-built infra-red training system, codename “Headhunter”, recruits will use the SA80 style rifle which fires an invisible and safe beam up to 40 meters. Before going into action recruits will learn Infantry skills of ‘Fire & Movement’ and ‘Camouflage & Concealment’ from The Brigade’s authentic military instructors. Various true-life close quarter combat scenarios will be undertaken.

What happens on the day

On arrival you’ll receive a full operations and safety brief from Directing staff. Then its time to transfer to the combat area where the fun really starts! You’ll undertake activity with various scenarios throughout the day. Using a purpose-built infra-red training system, codename “Headhunter”, recruits will use the SA80 style rifle which fires an invisible and safe beam up to 40 meters that eliminates the enemy by hitting sensors located in the helmet. An alarm sounds denoting a casualty and downloads any ammunition remaining in the weapon. Reporting back to the ‘Aid post’ recruits will be electronically re-activated and sent back into action (no sitting around in safe zones) - once they have reloaded their rifle at the electronic ammo dump (ammunition is unlimited during the day).

Need to know

Minimum age: 17 (under 18’s need parental consent)
There are no minimum or maximum height and weight restrictions.
Participants should be in good general health. If you have any concerns, it is best to check before booking.
Available on selected Saturdays from March until November
The experience content, equipment used and restrictions may vary according to venue.
