You’ll spend the day learning to make beautiful jewellery from a range of fabulous beads, chains, metal charms and trinkets. This is a fantastic opportunity to spend a day in the life of a jewellery designer! Working with an expert, you’ll make your own iconic charm bracelets, dangling chandelier earrings or uber-long pendant necklaces.
The day is a perfect mix of tuition, fun and creativity. Students will learn how to design and make 2 or 3 pieces of jewellery. You’ll be shown how to:
- Understand the correct tools and equipment needed to work with different materials
- Understand different beads and components
- Learn important techniques such as wiring; working with stretch and nylon and chain; attaching clasps; crimping and other skills
- Understand jewellery in the fashion context, working with both vintage and contemporary materials
As a jewellery designer, you’ll have fun developing your own creative, signature style! By the end of the day you’ll have made at least two pieces of your own designer jewellery, which you can take home and enjoy wearing.
