Gregorio Lavilla was probably the most unlikely motorsport champion before the start of the 2005 season. He didnt even have a ride lined up and only deputised for the injured James Haydon in the first rounds at the last minute. He did a good job though and ended up staying full-time in the Airwaves Ducati seat. Over the second half of the season the team was totally dominant, overhauling the lead that HM Plant Honda riders Kiyonari and Rutter had built up early on. The championship went down to the wire but Lavilla emerged triumphant. For the sixth year in a row we are offering the BSB Championship winning bike signed by its rider.
